Wednesday
December 24

- U.S. Men’s National Team manager Bruce Arena has selected 30 players to participate in a training camp beginning January 4 at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

The camp will culminate in the USA’s first-ever match at The Home Depot Center against 13th-ranked Denmark.

Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. PT, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN.


Tuesday
December 23

- U.S. U-20 team players midfielder Bobby Convey and goalkeeper Steve Cronin were named to the World Youth Championship All-Star Team, a 20-player group selected by the FIFA technical study group.

Convey had two assists and two goals, while Cronin posted two shutouts in five games.


Monday
December 22

- US Soccer has confirmed that the US men’s team will face fifth-ranked Holland on February 18 at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Kickoff for the match is set for 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.


Sunday
December 21

- New England Revolution goalkeeper Adin Brown underwent surgery on Wednesday in Boston to repair a tear in his left external oblique, a muscle in his abdominal wall.

He is expected to fully recover in 4-6 weeks.

- In other Revolution news, Craig Tornberg has been promoted to General Manager of New England.

Tornberg has been with the club since 1995, previously served as the team’s AGM and director of fan development.


Saturday
December 20

- U.S. U-20 forward Ed Johnson was awarded the Golden Boot, given to the leading goal scorer at the recent World Youth Championships held in the United Arab Emirates. This is the first time a U.S. men’s player has won the Golden Boot at any FIFA World Championship

Johnson notched four goals in five games, tying him with Argentina’s Fernando Cavenaghi and Brazil’s Dudu, but his one assist was the tiebreaker.
